Securing the excavation during the extension of the Blood Donation and Haemotherapy Centre

🤝 Work commissioned by Budimex

In this project, the greatest challenge was not the scope of the work itself, but the very limited working space and the immediate proximity to a hospital and emergency ambulance department, which had to continue operating without disruption throughout the duration of our work.

🔧 The scope of our work included the following:
• the construction of a CFA pile wall,
• the construction of a Berlin wall to secure the deep excavation,
• the foundation work for the access slab to the underground level.

⚠️ The biggest challenges in the project:
• working in a very confined space,
• the immediate vicinity of an operational hospital and emergency ambulance department,
• the need to ensure that ambulances could access the area,
• coordination of deliveries and supplies to the site,
• a lack of space for storing excavated material, which meant it had to be removed on an ongoing basis and work had to be suspended periodically.

💡 This project required not only the right technical solutions, but above all excellent organisation, precise planning of the works and efficient coordination of all activities.
